Cumbre 749 is available for download

Hi, everyone!  DXing with Cumbre 749 is available for download.  It's been a rough week, so I hope you'll forgive me for accidentally announcing it as number 748.  :-)  Here's the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/3277322517/CUMBRE749.MP3

There is a DXing with Cumbre 748, thanks to Chris Lobdell!

Hello, everyone!  As some of you may know, I have been swamped at work because we are moving to a new radio and TV studio, and some unexpected developments have made things even more hectic.  However, thanks to Chris Lobdell, we have DXing with Cumbre 748!  He covers the recent Winter SWL Fest in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, and of course his usual pirate radio news.  Here is the download link; as always, we thank Chris for his help, and especially now at such a difficult time!

DXing with Cumbre 747 is now available for download

Hello, everyone!  I have DXing with Cumbre 747 available for download.  It includes an EDXP Report from Bob Padula, Chris Lobdell's "Pirating with Cumbre," and "Pirates for Peace."  Even if, like me, you can't be at the Winter SWL Fest, we hope you'll have some other SWL enjoyment from this week's show!

And now for DXing with Cumbre 746; a Valentine edition for radio lovers!

Hello, everyone!  The preparations for the move to WCNY's new studios continue, but in the meantime, here is DXing with Cumbre 746's download link!  Happy Valentine's Day, and enjoy!  http://rapidshare.com/files/904499275/CUMBRE746.MP3

We're back...DXing with Cumbre 745 is ready for download!

Hello, everyone!  As some of you may know, I've had the flu, and my colleagues and I are also in the process of relocating the WCNY-FM studios to a new building, so it's been busy.  I could stand to have four of myself, like this picture done by my brother, artist Ward Lamb. However, the one Marie that there is has produced a show for you this week, and we're catching up on some "Pirating with Cumbre" features with Chris Lobdell.  Here's the link for downloading: http://rapidshare.com/files/2189806749/CUMBRE745.mp3

For Martin Luther King Day: "The Insult and Young Martin"

For this Martin Luther King Day in the USA, I am sharing "The Insult and Young Martin" by Jerome Witkin (of course!) in tribute to Dr. King's memory.  This is a very large work, which I have seen in 2011; it took up a large wall in the XL Projects Gallery in downtown Syracuse.  I wish that this photo were big enough to do this justice, but you can only show so much on a computer screen. (If you click on it, that will enlarge it a bit so you can see more details.) Luckily, it will be in the "Drawn to Paint" exhibition when that retrospective of Witkin's work comes to the Palmer Museum at Penn State University in February 2013.  If you can get there, please do, so you can see this and many other Witkin paintings and drawings!  More at https://artsandarchitecture.psu.edu/news/drawn-paint-art-jerome-witkin
